St. Paul Memorial Garden
What is a columbarium? A columbarium is an above-ground structure with cubby holes or niches designed to hold urns containing the cremation remains of loved ones. Each niche has a square stone panel covering the opening with a person’s name and dates engraved on the exterior. (see the picture below)
Here at St. Paul Lutheran Church, we are considering developing a Memorial Garden on our property (next to the Fellowship Hall) with columbarium where the cremated remains of members and their families can be interred. A plan has been developed for such a Memorial Garden by a team of members of our church at the request of the Church Council. We would like to share this plan with you and receive your input.
Three information meetings have been scheduled at which the team will share a proposed plan that has been reviewed and approved by the Church Council. We would like to know what you think of it. Please plan to attend one of these meetings:
* Sunday, November 17 @ noon (pizza will be served)
* Tuesday, November 19 @ 3:30 pm
* Friday, November 22 @ 6:30 pm
All of the meetings will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
