ST. PAUL SERVES: FOLLOWING THE HEART OF CHRIST
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)
May is a season when the world around us seems to come alive again. Trees bud, flowers bloom, and signs of new life are everywhere. It's also a fitting time for us, as a church family, to step outward in faith—because growth in Christ was never meant to stay contained. It moves. It reaches. It serves.
In Mark 10:45, Jesus gives us a clear picture of His mission, and in turn, our calling. The One who had every right to be served as the Son of God, God in the flesh come among us, instead chose to serve others. Not occasionally, and not just when it was convenient. But fully, sacrificially, and with love at the center of everything He did. Jesus came to take up sin, to die in our place, to rise again defeating sin and death—not for His own benefit, but so that you would live with Him forever.
That same heart of service is what we are invited into during St. Paul Serves, May 1-16....
